China is a fabulous place to visit. With more than 14000 Km of coastline, desert and mountains this gigantic country has a lot to offer. This was our first family trip to China and nothing better than start with the capital city, Beijing.

The food is known for being creative and delicious. The location is well known and desired. So what else could I ask for? Nothing! After walking around the Louvre for the whole morning, nothing better that a good restaurant.

Karen Krasne opened Extraordinary desserts in 1998, and since then she has been tempting San Diegan residents with her delectable and amazing desserts! Trained at Cordon Bleu in Paris, her treats are made with the best ingredients and not only look amazing on the shelf, but taste amazing as well.

From the moment I walked in I was mesmerized by the selection of yummy pastries! The confections are inspired by Karen’s travels to exotic parts of the world and change on a daily basis.

The 2 gigantic glass displays are filled with treats for any taste… from Bread pudding to Gluten Free choices!

Little shop where you can pick up cooking books, tea and even little stuffed toys!!!

Last week I had a delightful lunch at Chef Brian Malarkey’s Searsucker Restaurant located in the popular area in downtown San Diego known as The Gaslamp Quarter. I truly enjoyed this restaurant’s atmosphere, with its open layout and kitchen, it is specially lovely during the day time when you can truly admire the beautiful and eclectic decor.

The food is superb and the portions are extremely generous. The service was remarkably prompt and attentive, worthy of this relaxed upscale environment. I certainly will be coming back!

Recently I had the pleasure of having lunch at a very trendy restaurant in Los Angeles, Fig and Olive has a Mediterranean inspired menu created from local and imported ingredients. Their meals are the perfect size for “sharing” and I personally loved the crostini… They were delicious!!! The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere with an ultra chic and sleek decor, and the service was incredible!

Recently I had the pleasure of having lunch at Il Pastaio in Beverly Hills, a highly popular local restaurant owned by Italian brothers Giacomino and Tanino Drago. Since its opening in 1994, the restaurant has drawn a vast clientele and excellent reviews! Gourmet magazine has called it ‘A piece of Heaven’.

I had the pleasure of meeting Giacomino’s wife, Alessandra, a wonderful and beautiful lady from Brazil!!!

We were treated by the house to this beautiful dish, Tortelloni di Zucca with Black Truffles

Garganelli Verdi Alle Spugnole… So delicious!!!

Ana enjoyed the Asparigi Salad

And the special of the day, Spinach salad with Funghi

And I enjoyed this wonderful lunch with Ana and Mariela Barroso, former Chanel specialist at Neiman Marcus San Diego

While I was in New York City I had the pleasure to attend the ‘Simply stylist’ seminar. This event was founded by PR maven Sarah Pollack Boyd, and it features panel discussions with fashion bloggers, celebrity stylists and fashion designers where they discuss their success stories and discuss trends.

The event started with and introduction from founder Sarah Pollack Boyd, then the fashion panel started, and the speakers included designer and fashion celebrity stylist Joey Tierney, host of E! news Catt Sadler, fashion blogger Lindsey Calla of Saucie Glossie, style expert Lindsay Albanese and Abby Gardner, fashion editor of Marie Claire magazine.

The rest of the event included complimentary hair styling and makeovers, blogger’s fashion reveals and a crash course on how to be a stylist!

I had a great time and it was so much fun to spend time with other fashion lovers!!!
