Raf Simons continues to take an adventurous and forward-thinking approach at the House of Dior, and the Fall 2015 collection is a striking reflection of his bold vision. From his reinterpretation of animal prints to dramatic, skin-tight boots, the season delivered several unexpected and exciting pieces that challenged traditional Dior codes while remaining unmistakably elegant.
The show took place mid-afternoon at the Louvre, where a soft pink runway was bathed in natural Parisian sunlight. The setting perfectly highlighted what is set to become one of Fall 2015’s most coveted items: sky-high, skin-tight boots featuring chunky Lucite heels. I had the pleasure of seeing these boots up close at the Dior showroom, and they are every bit as impressive as one would imagine—sleek, powerful, and undeniably modern.
Animal prints appeared with a subtle camouflage effect, adding depth and edge to the collection. Dior’s iconic tailored jackets and structured coats were paired with knitted dresses and separates, creating a refined balance between luxury and comfort. This thoughtful combination offered the Dior woman a sense of effortless chic without sacrificing wearability.
Accessories played a strong supporting role, with bold new sunglasses destined for popularity and the Diorama bag firmly positioned as the must-have accessory of 2015.
