I have been living in US for more than 20 years, and this was my first time going to Grand Canyon! I don’t know what took me so long. The Grand Canyon National Park is the 15th oldest National Park in US, there you will see the Colorado River, which is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders Of The World. You can, like us, enjoy the sunset view from the Hopi Point, overview the canyon by helicopter, and much more.
Our adventure started by driving eight hours from San Diego to the South Rim of Grand Canyon on November 25th, to enjoy our Thanksgiving! away from San Diego, and to enjoy one of the most beautiful places on earth. Open all year long, the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is located 60 miles North of William, Arizona. In my opinion, the best option is to stay at Tusayan, a small city 2 miles from the park with 5 good hotel choices.
During the high season at the Grand Canyon, cars are not allowed to drive on the 3 routes (orange, red and blue) of the South Rim, but you will find a very convenient bus system. After November 30th, however, you will be able to drive on the routes and only pay 25 dollars to get in and out of the park for 7 days.
On top of all the amazing wonders that you’ll find at the Grand Canyon, you will enjoy the magic serenity that it exudes. It took me 20 years to visit the Grand Canyon, but let me tell you, I will return pretty soon 🙂
