Who doesn’t love to eat different dishes while traveling? One of the greatest things during my trip to Istanbul was the Food Tour. Greeks, Arabs, Persians, and many others have all passed through Istanbul leaving behind their cultural and gastronomic influence, and the result is absolutely delicious. Be prepared for a real eating binge through the backstreets of this city. There are different routes to choose, but we picked the “Two Markets, Two Continents Tour check out the website. It starts on the European side at the Karaköy neighborhood, crossing later by ferry to the Asian side’s Kadıköy.

We started by having breakfast at a little place that’s runed by a couple, followed by sightseeing through the mariner market streets, and pit stop for tea. Turkish Coffee and Tea, is something impossible to resist…

At Karakoy Gulluoglu, you will find the best Baklava!  Baklava comes from the times of the Ottoman Empire. Today the whole world loves baklava, but let me tell you that nothing is like the ones made at Gulluoglu. I loved it!

Then we crossed the Bosphorus to Kadıköy on the Asian side of the city. There, we tried regional specialties like  Mersin’s tantuni, Gaziantep’s lahmacun, and many more that I will never remember the name…
