China is a fabulous place to visit. With more than 14000 Km of coastline, desert and mountains this gigantic country has a lot to offer. This was our first family trip to China and nothing better than start with the capital city, Beijing.

Beijing is a massive city with 11.51 million habitants, and a fascinating mix between modern architecture and ancient sites.

Unfortunately we only had fews days over there but we tried our best to make that time count. We started with a visit to the zoo. In general that place is packed with people but because it was winter and very cold we pratically had the zoo for ourselves! The giant pandas are adorable and the tiger completely fascinating. I sure wish it was a little bit warmer but it was worth.

As we don’t speak a word of Pekingese or Mandarin per say we opt get a guided tour. The Two-Day Beijing Boutique Tour is a great option! Let me tell you; we started with the Tian’anmen Square, Great Wall and Forbidden City on the first day. And we visited the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Jingshan Park, Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, an had lunch at Dawanju Restaurant on the following day. We also visited the site for the 2008 Olympic game, totally worth! I would recommend China Highlights as tour agent, they were very efficient. And our experience turned out much, much better than I dreamed
