It has been around since 5th millennium B.C. and it is part of a group of islands that includes Delos and Rhenia. Mykonos casts its spell at the moment that you lay eyes on its architecture with its all white, cube-shaped houses. And it proceeds in causing fascination as you walk through the countless labyrinthine alleys glowing with the sunlight, just to find beautiful windmills, adding charm to this island for centuries.

We rented a house over there and the choice could not be better. The process was easy , as we used Airbnb, and the house was adorable, take a look…

After relaxing, it was time to see what this island is about. With a modern infrastructure and traditional look, Mykonos is one of the most popular tourist islands of the Mediterranean since the 50’s. And the town exudes charm and elegance!

And shopping in Mikonos town could not be better!! With more than 170 fashion stores, over there you can find what ever you want or imagine…

Since it’s an island, naturally there is no shortage of beautiful beaches in Mykonos. Many are better accessed by boat, but here are two that I particularly loved: Agios Sostis & Panormos

And if driving around the island can be challenging, don’t forget you are on vacation, so it’s also a lot of fun! Here it is a beautiful view of Marmaronisi & Moles islands

At Super Paradise Beach you can relax during the day, and start to party as soon as the afternoon comes. As a parent of two kids, the “all night long” party was out of question 🙂  but don’t be sad. Delos is an island around 45 minutes by boat from Mykonos, that is one of the most important mythological, historical, and archaeological sites in Greece. If you have the chance, go check it out…

And if there is one thing that I already miss…it’s the sunset in Mykonos 🙂
