China is a fabulous place to visit. With more than 14000 Km of coastline, desert and mountains this gigantic country has a lot to offer. This was our first family trip to China and nothing better than start with the capital city, Beijing.

AG Restaurant St Germain

The food is known for being creative and delicious. The location is well known and desired. So what else could I ask for? Nothing! After walking around the Louvre for the whole morning, nothing better that a good restaurant.

Iberostar Resort

It was our second time staying at a Iberostar hotel. Our first time was in Jamaica, and we liked it so much that we decided to go to Iberostar Playa del Carmen.

The hotel has three complex one for the young and under budget, a second for families with kids, and the third – Grand Paraiso – where only adults are allowed. No need to say that Grand Paraiso has the best restaurant, facilities, and basically everything.

But I do recommend the “Paraiso Maya” if you have kids.We stayed there. Let me tell you that the kids will have activities all day long, and the parents are going to be free to relax!

…And let’s not forget about the food!

You will find 5 restaurant at Paraiso Maya. This pictures is from La Marina restaurant. I have to say it was DELICIOUS!

This is without a doubt the most creative restaurant in the resort. The focus of this unique restaurant is its Avant Garde molecular food, which means the food is created with new modern techniques and textures.

Cocina de Autor has been named in the “100 Best New Food and Drink Experiences in the world” by Food and Wine magazine, and I would agree! It was a extremely entertaining culinary experience, let’s take a look!

Overlooking the ocean, this cute little “bistro” offers a wide variety of French inspired dishes and local favorites. Bistro is the perfect place to have lunch while enjoying the pool or the beach… like I did!!! Sip a delightful cocktail and enjoy the fabulous food this restaurant has to offer.

The Zen Grand section at the Grand Velas resort is located in the Riviera Maya jungle and a little less than a mile away from the main resort. It is extremely luxurious and a bit more private. I took a little tour of the property, and I fell in love! Specially with its incredible elegant pool!

I will definitely stay here next time!

AG Restaurant St Germain

The Grand Velas Resort is one the few resorts in the Mexican Riviera that has been rated Five Diamonds by the AAA, and I can assure you it well deserves them! I really enjoyed my stayed there, the service and the food were impeccable.

The Resort covers about 80 acres of land and is divided in 3 areas,The Zen Garden, The Ambassador section and The Grand class section.

My family and I stayed on the Ambassador side, which is family friendly and has spectacular views of the ocean and an amazing pool.

AG Restaurant St Germain

This restaurant is decorated so beautifully, and the food is truly incredible! From the moment you walked in thru the Swarovski crystal curtain you are captivated by its romantic atmosphere. Decorated in rich reds, black and silver the look is extravagant yet soft.

The Haute French cuisine menu was created by Chef Mustiere, and all the dishes are made in the rigorous classic French training which include reductions and complex extraordinary sauces.

Here are some of the delicious dishes we tried…

A little “Amuse-Bouche” – Mouth Teaser – before our meal! and I did cheat a bit… I brought this bottle of wine but I do want to tell you their wine and cocktail selection is amazing!

Tender Leave Salad with thickly cut Tuna in Black Pepper

Classic Onion Soup with Gruyere Cheese Gratin and Baguette Croutons

Veal Shank Osso Bucco cooked at low temperature and served with its own juice Reduction with Fresh Pasta

Warm Normandy Apple Tart with Green Apple Sorbet

Chocolate Souffle , Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce

I have been traveling around a lot lately, but this time is not about me, but the kids spending time with their grandpa!!! Recently we had a family reunion to celebrate Grandpa Fernando’s birthday, and he could not have picked a better place than Cancun, Mexico.

We celebrated his memorable day at Piaf, a French cuisine restaurant in our resort (more of that coming soon!), and here some moments from this loving family event!!!

But the fun did not end there…

Later on, the kids (Mark, Matthew and Joao Pedro) had a PJ party on Grandpa’s suite!!!

We all had so much fun and I just want to wish Happy Birthday one more time to Grandpa Fernando, and I wish you many more full of health, love and happiness!!!
